Recently visited Cairns and had the opportunity to get out for a few runs along the promenade.
Cairns is a tropical city in Far North Queensland and a popular gateway to some of Australia’s most spectacular natural attractions. Located between the Coral Sea and the Wet Tropics rainforest, Cairns offers visitors opportunities for swimming, snorkelling, diving, hiking and wildlife experiences.
The city is particularly well known as a base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef, where visitors can experience colourful coral, marine life and tropical islands. Nearby, the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation provide opportunities to discover ancient rainforest, beaches and diverse wildlife. Cairns itself has a relaxed atmosphere, with a lively Esplanade featuring restaurants, cafés, markets, walking paths and a public swimming lagoon.
The city also provides access to scenic destinations such as Kuranda and the Atherton Tablelands. With its tropical climate, outdoor activities, natural scenery and easy access to world-famous reef and rainforest environments, Cairns is an appealing destination for adventure, nature and relaxation.
